Avid backpacker interested in [ tech gadgets | web design | digital marketing | scifi ] . Hey there! Pleased to digitally meet you. I’m Arthur McMahon, an avid outdoor explorer who has crushed thousands of trail miles and has written articles for established outdoor organizations such as the Pacific Crest Trail Association, the Pacific Crest Trailside Reader, and Backpackers.com. Growing up in New Jersey’s urban sprawl underneath the long-reaching shadow of New York City I had not so much as dreamed of becoming a bearded adventure seeker until my family moved to Oregon. I earned my BS in Advertising from the School of Journalism at the University of Oregon, got to know the state a bit, and then took off with my soon-to-be wife on an urban adventure. We relocated to Boston, then spent a few years in the San Francisco Bay Area, and at the end of it all we made out way back home to Oregon. But not before thru-hiking the Pacific Crest Trail. Yeah, we walked home, and then some. This 2,650 mile trek from Mexico to Canada sparked a passion for the outdoors that burns within me to this day. I published a well-received book about my experience. Since that thru-hike I have spent vacations, weekends, and any chance I can get to head out into the mountains and find stories to tell. Though the beautiful scenery is definitely full of wonders to behold, I find that it is the people who make the outdoors worth exploring. There’s a kindness out on the trail that I rarely see anywhere else. Everyone out there has a sparkle in their eye, and an open heart. It’s these people I love to write about, to write to, to write for. My writing often blends stories, experiences, and technical details to construct a cohesive, comprehensive narrative. Short copy for advertisements and other promotional materials is packed with passion. I want your readers to get excited about the outdoors, about your message, and your products. Let’s start a discussion and work on something great together.
