I’ve gained plenty of experience writing features and curating content for some of the most highly regarded sites on the web today including Upworthy.com, Yahoo and BuzzFeed. While feeding the never ending demand of the above sites and other clients to stay socially relevant through viral content represents the biggest chunk of my portfolio today, within that I’ve pursued my endless passion for sports. I’ve written about the NFL, NBA, NHL and MLB and smaller niche sports. I’ve also covered local grassroots and high school sports through my work as both a writer and editor for SportsXpress.ca and the now defunct SportsBuzz magazine. It is actually the latter publications that have allowed me to gain access to local sports and fundraising events and subsequent opportunities to interview celebrities in the industry, including Toronto Blue Jays slugger Jose Bautista, former Toronto Raptor Jerome Williams, and former NHLers like Eric Lindros, Adam Graves, Nick Kypreos, Walter Gretzky and Hall Of Famer Dale Hawerchuk. My experience in sports led me to being featured as a fantasy football expert on ESPN Radio in Hawaii this past September. Outside of 500 word blog posts and longer features, I started my writing career hammering out lengthy list articles designed to attract traffic and improve SEO rankings for various sites in sports, and also done the same for travel and celebrity blogs. I also have experience writing advertorials for Metroland Media newspapers across Ontario and have the opportunity to do the same for the Yellow Pages in 2016 as there program soon gets underway. I love social media and enjoy the challenge of sharing awesome content with an audience that has a short attention span and focuses on whatever is trending at the moment. I look forward to connecting with you.
