As a former journalist, one of the vital skills required is the art of editing. In order to make palatable reading a piece of writing must flow with beautifully chosen words, excellent grammar and above all, be succinct. There should be no superfluous words that could potentially lose you a reader. I have worked with various types of organisations doing just that - creating engaging copy that reflects the client's 'personality' and connects with their audiences/readerships. Having spent over 10 years working with some of the UK's most respected media organisations, including the BBC and ITV, as well as some PR and charitable agencies, I've decided to focus on my passion: How we communicate with words. My writing and editing experience spans diverse mediums, ranging from television and radio, idea development, proposals, pitches, tenders, case studies, research documents, press releases, straplines, internal and external communications, websites and blogs. I'm currently trying to build a portfolio so would greatly appreciate an opportunity to showcase my skills. I'm confident you will not be disappointed.
