I have over twenty years of experience editing copy within a variety of contexts and for a variety of clients. I began copy editing in high school as a member of my high school newspaper staff and became a member of the editing team in my senior year. I continued that experience as a mass communication student in college with a concentration in print journalism. In my role as the managing editor of our campus newspaper for three years and as an intern for the local Winston-Salem Journal, I learned to write and edit according to the current edition of the APA Style Manual. Since that time, I have edited content for a variety of clients professionally, including lifestyle websites and blogs, sports websites and blogs, fashion/jewelry websites, book authors, and more. Additionally, I teach composition and public speaking courses to college students, the duties for which require me to teach them to document research in APA style and require me to revise their work, which certainly keeps my editing skills sharp.
