I am native English-speaking, with a Master’s in Professional Writing/Editing from UMass Dartmouth, North Dartmouth, MA. My thesis included creating a website for my business as an author’s editor, which I have been doing on a freelance basis for the past 10 years. I also have a Bachelor’s in Ceramic Engineering from Alfred University, which gives me a unique perspective into the needs of scientists, researchers, and engineers.  

I have done extensive editing of a wide variety of scientific papers in the areas of materials science, materials engineering, physics, inorganic chemistry, nanotechnology, polymer science, dental materials, etc., for publication in professional journals following the ACS Style Guide, 3rd Ed. In some cases I format these manuscripts according to particular journal guidelines, and I check citations and references to make sure they are correct and complete.  

I have also edited theses and dissertations, PowerPoint presentations, abstracts, etc. I specialize in editing for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and consistency of style, edit and convert PDFs to Word, Excel, or PowerPoint using Adobe Acrobat Pro, and I have a working knowledge of LaTeX document typesetting application.
