Hardly any country has isolated itself from the rest of the world as much as North Korea during the corona pandemic. Now ruler Kim Jong-un has declared the virus eradicated under his regime and celebrated it as a "brilliant success", the state media reported on Thursday. The statement comes from a national meeting on anti-epidemic measures held in Pyongyang on Wednesday. Kim's sister Kim Yo Jong hinted at the same meeting that her brother had contracted Covid-19 himself. He was suffering from a high fever, it was said. The country first confirmed a corona outbreak three months ago, although observers assume that the virus may have raged there before that.
