For the past three years, I’ve been working remotely for a variety of local and international organizations. I do academic, fiction, and nonfiction ghostwriting, proofreading, and editing, SEO writing/editing, content copywriting, and social research consulting—including assistance with study designs, research methodologies, data analysis, and academic/scientific writing.
I am very able to work independently, and I am a regular contributor to several international journals in the social sciences. I’ve completed many nonfiction ghostwriting orders on a wide variety of topics—from depression in men to neopaganism, from compulsive shopping to guides for pairing wines with food. I’ve also worked on fiction ghostwriting, mainly historical, humor, and mystery novels.
I have considerable skills in research and a strong capacity to find and absorb large amounts of information. I am a fast reader and a quick study. I have a social science/humanities master's degree, with specialization in Development Studies/Economics. I'm interested in a plethora of topics, I can write about practically anything. I not only have more than a basic grasp of a wide variety of subjects, but I am also highly proficient at sourcing additional, high-quality reference material, absorbing it, comprehending it, and writing about it. Moreover, I’ve traveled quite extensively in the US, Europe, and North Africa (I am myself South African—although I would say I live on the internet).
As a home-based worker, I’ve developed a high level of self-discipline, time management, and organizational skills. I have a deep understanding of a broad array of technological tools to allow my work to flow faster, and of course, to make my life easier!
I moved to remote work from a formal, full-time career in economic research for the flexibility it affords me to complete my Ph.D.
