Creative, effective, impactful, and results oriented are a few words that frequently rise to the top when people talk about the work I do as an instructional designer. None of this would be possible without effective collaboration with subject matter experts and stakeholders. In compliance training, with Thrivent, I collaborated with stakeholders to maintain and reduce compliance related infractions related to products and internal processes using effective eLearning design and adult learning theory. I also led technical systems training on internal systems as well as policy and procedure regarding technical topics that included hands on application and simulation. These projects led to a variety of instructional design solutions that included many different types of instructional methodologies, from video to case study and learning application. And if soft skills training is what you’re after, I implemented a program a Humana that saved thousands of calls a year while improving call quality at the same time. Training and development is a passion of mine, because we have the opportunity to learn every day, become better at what we do and in turn, help the people and organizations we work for become stronger.
