We write a lot in the creative non-fiction genre, because we write about life, observations and opinions in an entertaining way and we endeavour to share our enthusiasm with others...even when it seems mundane. From prose & poetry to songs & commentaries, film reviews, web content and letters to the editor...always there are things to write about and with a fresh outlook. For example, when most people tour a Victory ship in its pre-sinking stage before it becomes an artificial reef for diving, they merely do a walk-through. For some it's truly an adventure to be shared and when they take a tour, they imagine what it might have been like to serve on that ship and what history it holds. Poetry offers a wonderful way to express emotions and sentiments in an ardent and impassioned way that comes from the depths of one's heart most minds can't reach. They can serve as commemorative legacies filled with the highlights of a life well-lived for a wonderful ballad. Poems can also be 'slam' expressions of displeasure and heartbreak that rise from drama and despair, which is also good therapy. One truly impressive example of creating buzz around a publicly trading mining company was to write a travel log of events when a vehicle needed to be transported from Canada to Central America. The only options were to ship it by freighter or drive it and this company president decided to take the time away from the office for a most unique adventure that ultimately helped raise the price of shares.
