Typing became something that I enjoy, especially since enrolling in the free online typing course on ratatype.com. Recently, I took a typing test on the same website and managed to obtain the score of 68.6 words per minute with 96% accuracy. Since enrolling in the course, I never bought a physical notebook to write down my university notes and instead utilised software such as Notion to keep my notes. Completing my university assignment became less of a hassle as well compared to before as I now find pleasure in typing.
Typing in English is also not a problem for me as I believe that I am proficient in it as my second language. Studying International Baccalaureate (IB) and communicating with people in the UK during my undergraduate degree enabled me to continue improving my English proficiency using better sentence structures and a wider range of vocabulary. Additionally, I completed an IELTS test earlier this year and managed to score 7.5 as the overall point. As for the equipment that I use for typing, I am now using a Mac computer with a very stable Internet connection (104 Mbps).
Working as a Special Education Needs teacher for about a year had a meaningful impact on me. I now have more tendency to solve problems from another person's point of view to have a better grasp of the situation. I also consistently equip myself with knowledge about special education to deliver the best learning experience that my students can get. During the course of teaching, I have received several positive feedback from the parents of my students and have learned to communicate effectively with them. Finally, I have realised the potential in me to fully utilised the resources around me to assist children with special needs so that they too can get the necessary and high-quality education like their typical peers.
