I truly love my profession. I don’t consider it ‘work’. I get excited and ‘charged up’ when I take on projects and problems to find the ‘answers’. Having been assigned to challenging positions over the last 20 years I have accumulated a diverse basket of skills. Using my skill sets to solve problems other people can’t is, to me, akin to finding ‘buried treasure’. I live to provide solutions that improve lives. I attribute my zeal to the fact that I have a greater appreciation for my profession than most others in it. As a child I was academically weak at mathematics. It wasn’t that I was incapable, I was just never taught the mechanics/basics. In 2000, a college professor realized I couldn’t operate fractions. She took 30 minutes of her time to teach me. It was like I was given superpowers (overly dramatic, but accurate). I haven’t looked back, and I haven’t stopped learning. I have been told I have A LOT of energy.
