At the Marine Corps base in Barstow, California, I developed a forms-based database application using MS Excel as the platform, supported by VBA code, that tracked utilities expenditures (and reimbursements) by each department on the base. I created data entry screens for the operator to enter monthly meter readings, direct billings (invoices), and miscellaneous billings. I included functionality to analyze the data and generated dynamic reports/charts to show past performance and to forecast near- and long-term trends.The database contained well over a million records, distributed among a number of workbooks that, together, constituted a tabularized, relational database.
