I have been a Sybase DBA supporting both production and development environments since 9/90. My skill set is varied. Coming from a Unix/C Programmer/Analyst background, I taught myself how to be a Sybase DBA when our DBA had left my last job. I Focused on shell programming once becoming a DBA. I have always been a team player. I'm usually placed in a position of helping other developers with questions about their queries and/or solving other problems they might have. At my previous position I inherited code to migrate data from an existing system to a reengineered system. The code migrated data at a rate of 12 hours per month for 24 months of data. I improved performance from 12 hours down to 2.5 hours per month.
