I passed the professional English translator certification test organized by Shanghai International Studies University, a standardized test featuring translating tasks such as long news articles, user manuals, jargon-savvy Chinese art introduction pieces, diplomatic announces, legal and government statements, etc.. Born and raised in Shanghai, you'd gradually get tired of the bubble of English Learning since the 1980s. I grew up being forced to take excessive extra English lessons and seeking most entertainment from English speaking countries. Many people tutor for middle or primary school students as a way to exploit their English skills. While I think that's just dull and am willing to contribute to something more valuable.
