Police in Las Vegas has arrested a Democratic official on suspicion of murder after a journalist who exposed his alleged bullying and "inappropriate" behavior was stabbed to death.
Jeff German, a veteran investigative reporter with the Las Vegas Review-Journal, was found dead outside his home on Saturday night. Police believe he was fatally stabbed during an altercation the day before.
He had extensively written about Robert Telles, resulting in the 45-year-old lawyer and senior local government official losing his re-election bid in June.
Yesterday, police raided the home of the Clark County Public Administrator, who handles the property of people who die without a will.
Telles declined to speak to reporters outside his home, following the police interview and search. He was wearing what appeared to be a hazmat suit and sandals as if he had discarded his clothes or surrendered them as evidence.
But late last night, police in tactical gear returned, and according to the Review-Journal: "About 30 minutes later, he was wheeled out of the home on a stretcher and loaded into an ambulance.”
A brief statement from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said: "The suspect in the homicide that occurred on September 2, 2022, has been taken into custody."
The statement did not name the suspect and no further details were offered
