I have worked in the design and advertising industries for 30 years. I have also worked in video production for 20 years, editing more than 300 tv spots. I taught computer/design technology, visual storytelling and documentary film production at grad school VCU Brandcenter for 10 years (1996-2006). I have worked as a professional photographer for the past 12 years (see samples of this work at timchumley.com). In 2016 I completed my first feature-length documentary (signsofhumanity.org). I shared directing responsibilities, and also edited and shot a lot of the film. I have been using Photoshop since it was released in 1990, and am an expert in Adobe Illustrator and InDesign. I'm also extremely proficient in Adobe Premier and Final Cut Pro. I have been using FileMaker Pro since the late 80s, and have developed database systems for my own use and for clients. I've programmed websites in HTML, CSS and Flash, but now exclusively work on the WordPress platform. I have built a couple of sites in the last year using WooCommerce e-commerce technology for WordPress. I have a lot of experience with the Microsoft Suite, as well as Apple's productivity software (Keynote, Numbers and Pages). But lately, I'm appreciating Google's suite of online apps. (A lot easier to share information with clients.) I purchased my first Macintosh computer in 1985 and have used the platform since. In the last few years I have been exploring more tactile, less digital artwork through the creation of a series of large-format charcoal and graphite drawings. This work is online at chumleyart.com.
