I love working with people who are passionate about their projects and are excited to take their writing to the next level. I have assisted students, aspiring writers, and seasoned writers alike with short articles, children’s books, novels, biographies, memoirs, and other nonfiction projects.
As an editor, I bring my gifts to the table with other creators to elevate their work to its full potential. As an intuitive, I’m able to perceive what you’re aiming to convey, even when your words don’t clearly express it, yet. And as a teacher, I can illustrate the gap between what you intend and what’s actually being said, and hep you to close that gap with the right words in the right order. I'm also great at asking the questions that bring out more of what you want to say, and even what you didn’t know you wanted to say.
In a way, writing takes place in a kind of vacuum—it’s just you, your brain, and your keyboard reaching out to the world with no guarantee that what you’re saying is what will be understood by those who read your words. Editing clears away the clouds of that uncertainty by clarifying; rearranging; substituting a better word for the purpose you’re intending; eliminating unnecessary words, sentences, or even paragraphs; and allowing your writing to shine as it was meant to.
