I have a BA in English from Hampshire College in poetry and poetics, and I am a member of both the EFA and ACES. I am also about to complete my copy editor certificate from the University of Chicago (I wanted to brush up on my skills after taking time off to be a full-time mom).

In general, I like to propose a trial edit of about 15 pages at a discounted rate of $0.02 a word. If we are a good fit for each other then I will continue to edit for you at my usual rate of $0.03 a word for copy editing and $0.04 a word for line and developmental editing.

My edits will be done using Microsoft Word 365. Some edits, such as spacing and formatting paragraphs, will be made silently. All other edits will be made using “Track Changes.” I will also include a style sheet. It will give an overview of global editorial decisions I have made. It will also have a list of names, places, and words where I have made an executive decision as to spelling/formatting.
