My name is Ken, and I am an experienced digital marketer who specialises in creating data driven marketing campaigns. My roots are in SEM, creating bid strategy targets that work towards a business goal, whether that be CPA, MOAS or rapid growth. My current experience at BuildDirect has provided me the insight to look towards marketing in a data driven way. One of the many challenges I took on while working at BuildDirect was structuring a bid strategy workflow to fully utilise the warehouses that BuildDirect has over the United States. During my time at BuildDirect our team had a heavy focus of becoming more efficient with our spend. This meant that we had to bring down our monthly spend of 2 million dollars down. By my first year at BuildDirect, my team and I brought down costs by 63% (year over year), while only reducing created product carts by 10%. My main focus during this initiative was to do an analysis at a product level to see which categories were bringing in the most revenue and propose those to increase marketing spend in, while decreasing spend in non-revenue generating categories. After this, I would do an analysis on strong performing ad groups, ads and keywords and portfolio them in a traffic building bid strategy. Through Facebook I grew BuildDirect's email database using an inbound marketing strategy. I promoted ebooks to consumers who wanted to learn more about wood flooring. Through audience insights I fine tuned the affinity targeting campaigns that we had to ensure efficient marketing spend, along with that I created look alike audiences to further drive traffic. Through these initiatives BuildDirect obtained 700 leads a day, at $9 an email. Because of BuildDirect's strong focus on data, growth and inventory, I have seasoned myself to become an individual who uses data in every marketing decision he does.
