  • Digital marketing requires a lot of information to be done well, my job as a digital marketer will be to ensure I have the information I need before getting started, having a framework  [WHAT, WHO, WHEN, WHY, HOW, WHERE] in mind will help to organize a digital marketing strategy
  • Digital Marketers need to understand the business they market and their core components   [Revenue, Cost, Product/Service, Customers] 
  • A business value proposition is a key starting point for marketers as it conveys what they are selling, what the benefit is in using that product or service, who the target customer might be, and what makes their offering different from the competition
  • Understanding where the business is in its lifecycle [Startup, Growth, Mature Company, or maybe in Decline] is important for my marketing strategy/plan. 
  • Creating buyer personas is helpful as it keeps me focused on who is the customer really is. A persona is a fictional character that summarizes and communicates the key characteristics of my target customer   
  • There are many different ways to reach your customers at different stages in their journey so as a marketer it’s important to consider that your marketing campaigns need a mix of paid, owned, earned media to be effective 
  • Setting marketing objectives and measuring the progress toward them with Key performance indicators [KPIs] is a crucial planning process
