$25/hr Starting at $25

  • Trump wrote on Truth Social that border was strong when he was president
  • Appeared to suggest that during presidency it was harder for migrants to get in
  • Comes as number of migrants arrested at Mexico border hit 2 million in year
  • Huge numbers of migrants have been bused across America in recent week
  • Donald Trump has waded into Biden's border crisis saying that America 'had the strongest and best southern border in history' two years ago because migrants'knew it was going to be very hard to come in and stay in.'

Writing on the social media platform Truth Social, which he founded after he was removed from Twitter for spreading 'misinformation', he said: 'Remember, just two years ago we had the strongest and best Southern Border in US history.

'They weren't coming up through and through because they knew it was going to be very hard to come in, and stay in.

  • That's the best Border policy of them all, by far. I built the Wall, and then added more. Remain in Mexico, we said. It all worked!!!'

Trump, who was voted out in January 2021, appeared to suggest that during his presidency, it was much harder for migrants to get into America.

The former president held a rally in Ohio last week and uses Truth Social in a bid to drum up support.

He has previously hit out at Biden on a number of occasions.

His words come days after more migrants were bussed across the country and continue to stream through in their hundreds.

The 50 Venezuelan migrants who were flown into Martha's Vineyard last week filed a class action suit against Ron DeSantis, Florida's governor, who arranged the flight from Texas.

They argued that they 'experienced cruelty akin to what they fled in their home country'after being bussed into Martha's Vineyard, the immigrants were then carted off by officials to a military base on Cape Cod.

As numbers of migrants climb, it was revealed that more than two million migrants have been arrested at the Mexico border in a year for the first time in history.

The record was shown in Customs and Border Patrol records that were compiled at the border and comes amid a continued flow of migrants in Texas, Arizona and California.

Figures compiled show a spike this spring, revealing 241,000 encounters with law enforcement.

Numbers stayed above 200,000 each month since, even after a drop. In August, the figure reached 203,000.

Records cover an 11-month period and the number will not be revealed until after the end of the fiscal year which is September 30th.
