Former US President Donald Trump has warned of what he described as "potential killing and destruction" if he is found guilty of involvement in buying the silence of a porn star who she says he had a sexual relationship with.
Trump's warning was contained in a post on a social media platform, in which he also attacked Manhattan Attorney General Alvin Bragg, who in turn is overseeing the case.
New York prosecutors asked Trump to testify before the jury. The call was reported to indicate that the former president may face charges.
Trump said that whoever makes such an accusation against me is "a degenerate psycho."
For five years, prosecutors in Manhattan have investigated allegations that Trump paid porn actress Stormy Daniels not to speak publicly about an alleged affair with the former president.
Trump insists on denying any connection to the bribery case that was brought against him during his campaign for the 2016 presidential elections. Trump describes the investigation into this case as politicized.
Daniels says she was paid $130,000 before the 2016 election in exchange for silence about the alleged affair.
