Donald Trump would "turn on everybody" if he is indicted, his niece Mary Trump has said.
Her comments come as speculation mounts that the former president could be indicted for his role in efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 election.
If that happens, Trump would do everything he can to cast blame on everybody but himself, his niece said on an episode of The Thom Hartmann Program earlier this week.
"What should we expect if Donald Trumpis indicted?" Hartmann asked Mary Trump.
"We should expect a full court press by him and everybody in his orbit," she replied. "To change the subject, muddy the waters, deflect, project, cast blame on everybody from the lowliest of White House aides on up."
Mary Trump, a psychologist who has written books about him and the Trump family, added that her uncle "will not take it lying down" and would recruit "everybody who continues to be a hanger-on to do his bidding."
She continued: "I mean, Donald didn't do this by himself. He was enabled at every turn from people in his inner circle, everybody in the executive branch, and almost the entirety of the Republican Party."
