DEVELOPMENTAL EDITING Developmental editing is the most in-depth level of editorial service I provide. In a developmental edit I will properly adjust the pace and tone, discover and rework plot issues for consistency, work on character development, improve sentence construction and organization, look at prose issues to eliminate wordiness, logic issues, redundancies and inconsistencies. I will revise conversations and dialogue to make it more dynamic and natural. I will also deal with the feel of the book as a whole to improve the marketability. COPY EDITING Copy editing assumes that the major work on the book has been completed. In a copy edit service I will smooth out the language and ensure style consistency, edit language errors and phrasing, rework awkward sentences and correct faulty spelling, grammar and punctuation. PROOFREADING Proofreading is the final step in an editorial process. My proofreading service looks for the basics before publishing. I look for typos and misspelled common words (such as there and they, through and though), missing words, and misplaced punctuation. The content of the novel will be left alone. IN DEPTH BETA READ A beta read assumes the novel is complete and soon to be ready for publishing. I will look for glaring issues that need to be addressed and include a review of the content that you may use for publishing. No changes or edits will be made.
