• Copy edit and proofread • Develop and maintain the copy editing guidelines. • Develop and maintain a system for measuring and improving book quality. • Liaise with editors, indexers, and layout staff. • Check the editorial work for the following, against guidelines: o Language, which includes grammar, spelling, usage, and punctuation, o Content, which includes consistency of style in the case of multi-author books and readability. o Layout, which includes use of correct template styles, page set-up, and headers and footers • Assess language quality by: o Complying with in-house guidelines. o Correcting break in text due to language errors o Raising issues or concerns if any
