I edit for story structure, characterization, story opening and ending, word use, grammar, spelling, typos, sentence structure, and format. All forms of fiction and nonfiction, electronic or print, including magazine articles, website copy, books, short stories, scholastic papers, business writing (resumes, correspondence, business plans), training materials, technical writing, reviews (book, software, website), press releases, blog entries, forum posts, newsletters, complain letters and Bios. There are generally three levels of editing, described as follows: (1) “Proofreading,” which includes fixing spelling and punctuation errors, (2) “Basic Editing,” which, in addition to proofreading, includes fixing grammar and sentence structure as the editor sees fit, and (3) “Comprehensive Editing,” which, in addition to basic editing, includes paragraph and manuscript restructuring as the editor sees fit. Note that editing does not include the creation of original content unless specified otherwise.
