Hello, my name is Crow Daniels... and I am beyond pissed off. With four years of extensive service as an editor under my belt, I have to tell you - I am disappointed. There seems to be only two kinds of editing services: the effective but absurdly expensive, and the impossibly cheap services that leave your work worse than what you gave them. As a freelance editor and copywriter, it was always my mission to deliver the most extensive corrections and the most constructive feedback. And, while my efforts were always praised, I simply did not have the time or resources to work on more than just the occasional project. It ate me up to have to watch my clients and friends of clients endure the "services" of unequipped, uncaring, passionless editors - often paying more than just a chunk of change for them to flubdub around! If there's one thing I know that most of my peers do not, it's that a writer's manuscript is their baby. It's not merely an assemblage of words - the text on the page is PART of them. As such, I do not have the arrogance and callousness to assault the text with red pen and steal my pay. I edit with the care of a surgeon removing and repairing. When your manuscript comes into my care, I treat it as though I have been given the duty of taking care of your child. But, because this effort is not treated as 'willy-nilly' for monetary gain, it is more intensive. I would not get far trying to change the world of editing by myself. That resolution? The creation of Clockwork Creative. When in search of the resources to make this business come together, I turned to the resource I already had - which is people. My friends and loved ones, people I knew with certainty I could trust, people I knew felt as I did and would give each project their all.
