What does radio, marketing/promotions, and book publishing have in common? Me, of course. I've spent the last three years developing different skills in the media industry, and I'm looking to continue growing in my field. As a current Editorial Project Manager, I have learned a lot from my projects and freelancers I manage. Working hard with a detailed eye is always important for me and I know that it is important and crucial for companies and any client. I am a Media & Communication Studies graduate from Johnson & Wales University (JWU), a previous iHeartRadio Promotions Street Team member, the previous Editorial Assistant and current Editorial Project Manager for The Quarto Group where I worked closely with authors, designers, and freelancers. I review and edit (proofread) page layouts for books soon to print, copy edit and review manuscripts, and review licensed projects to ensure the company is following the licencor's terms as well as following our style. During my time at JWU I developed strong interest in the areas of Publications, Broadcast Radio, Social Media Marketing/Writing, and Promotions. I was able to practice these areas by taking classes like Writing for Publications, Creative Writing, Writing for Digital Media, and Social Media Marketing, as well as interning at iHeartRadio as a Jam’n 94.5 Morning Show/Promotions intern and The Quarto Group as the Editorial intern. Over the years I have focused a lot of my writing on pop culture, fiction and non-fiction title reviews, rape culture, and much more. Being a Promotions Street Team member taught me how to promote events and other business partners on different social platforms like Snapchat, Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook. Following that position, becoming an editorial assistant taught me how to keep my eye out for several mistake: grammatical, legal, and punctual. During my first year and a half with Quarto I have been able to project manage several titles by working with authors, editors, book manuscripts, covers, and full layouts during both my assistant position and project manager position. Both jobs made me become more observant, organized, flexible, and creative when dealing with projects, deadlines, and everyday task. I have the confidence that I could be a great asset to you and that I can deliver assignments, projects, and task on spec with all my skills and love for writing. My love for writing and storytelling, and my skills in editing and project management, will make me a dynamic addition to your team. I give 110 percent to any project thrown my way, and I quickly grow into new challenges and learning opportunities. I'm looking forward to further discussing a projects with you, and thank you for the consideration.
