Hello! I have been an educator for 7 years. During this time, I have taught World Studies, Geometry, Biology, Physics, Environmental Science, and Chemistry to students in the general education setting as well as those with special needs, primarily at the high school level. My focus has been in Chemistry, however I have created accessible and engaging lessons, assessments, units, and curriculum for multiple topics. I include opportunities for globalization of content as well as look for ways to incorporate 21st century skills into the learning process when designing content for students. Ensuring that students find purpose and can recognize opportunities to solve problems, share information, and/or identify needs in their community is a passion of mine and I have collaborated with multiple organizations while teaching to bring in additional resources for large scale social justice projects that students have designed via structured support and lessons that I've designed. I have taught almost every grade and am passionate about creating standards based learning opportunities for students that is fun and culturally responsive. I've also created presentations and workshops for teachers of varying experience for professional development sessions and conferences. I have a B.A in Psychology and African American Studies, and a M.Ed In Curriculum Design and Instruction. I am also an alumni of the Stanford Hollyhock Fellowship as well as the Fulbright Teachers For Global Classrooms Fellowship.
