PCB design involves more than circuit design and laying copper traces. It's also about manufacturability, user interaction and ensuring availability of components. In my past 10 years of experience, my philosophy of design has been simplicity and getting products to the market with minimum lead time without compromising the quality of the product. If you're looking for low-cost design that often compromises on quality, then I may not be the right person to talk to. With some of my PCB being used in medical environment, including an operating theatre environmental monitoring system, my work is definitely not cheap.
