I write and update emergency plans for counties, cities, towns, businesses and corporations. Every facility should have emergency plans for protecting employees and visitors. An Emergency Action Plan can protect personnel and visitors, especially if it is a city or county building frequented by the public. A Business Continuity Plan is a prevention and recovery system in writing for potential threats such as natural disasters or cyber-attacks, protecting personnel and assets, getting all employees on the same page to make sure the business can maintain status quo. An Emergency Operations Plan provides the structure and processes a local government will need to respond to and initially recover from an event. Hazard mitigation plans reduce loss of life and property by minimizing (or mitigating) the impact of disasters.
