Born and raised in the capital of Egypt, Arabic (specifically the Egyptian dialect) has always been my native language. What contributed to my fluency in English is having studied this powerful language in school (as a first language) since the age of 4. I have been passionate about English books and writers, such as Jane Austen, Charles Dickens, Agatha Christie and William Faulkner for as long as I can remember, which led me to study English and Comparative Literature in the primary English-speaking university in Cairo, the American University. My love and appreciation for both Modern Standard Arabic and the Egyptian dialect grew up with me, however, which in return developed my interest in translation from and to both the aforementioned languages.
