Hi, I’m the kind of person who actually uses punctuation and correct spelling in his text messages, prefers not to use abbreviations or numbers to shorten Twitter posts, and gets annoyed when he sees bad grammar or punctuation on social media, even on memes. I also believe that the proper use of grammar and punctuation is a reflection of a company’s image. For two years, I served as Sr. Editor and Social Media Specialist for Wauconda News Corporation, a news company that served all of Lake County, IL, parts of Cook County, and a small portion of Indiana. We had separate websites for each village and a monthly-printed paper that served 5 villages. As one of three partners, I was in charge of gathering information and updating the 40+ websites, managing volunteers, journalists, interns and photographers, layout of the paper, networking, and proofreading media before publishing to both online and print. I also developed and carried out our social media strategies. Since then, I’ve been using my talents in different fields, including Executive Editor to the Field Director/Pastor of a non-profit on Chicago’s South side, where I proofread and edit business proposals, emails, presentations, activity logs, blogs, permission forms and newsletters, as well as create PowerPoint presentations and notes. I also co-write his sermons, have over 10 years of public speaking, ad-writing, teaching and working with startups, a few years in working with marketing strategies, and I enjoy building and managing websites). I'm also on UpWork, where I was (so far) hired (and later rehired) to edit English sections of a book on how to learn French. My main thing is that I want to help you out with a good, solid product, so I hold myself to high standards when it comes to quality, and like to communicate regularly with my clients to ensure the finished product meets or exceeds their expectations.
