Essential fatty acids

$10/hr Starting at $25

Essential fatty acids (EFAs) are fatty acids that cannot be synthesized by the human body and must be obtained through the diet. There are two main types of EFAs: omega-3 fatty acids and omega-6 fatty acids.

Omega-3 fatty acids are important for the functioning of the brain, the cardiovascular system, and the immune system. They are found in fatty fish such as salmon, mackerel, and sardines, as well as in flaxseeds, chia seeds, and walnuts.

Omega-6 fatty acids are also important for the body, but excessive consumption can lead to inflammation. They are found in vegetable oils such as corn, safflower, and soybean oil, as well as in nuts and seeds.

A healthy diet should include a balance of both omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids.
