Turkey is obstructing Sweden's accession to NATO, as Ankara accuses Stockholm of harboring Kurdish activists it describes as "terrorists", especially Kurds from the Kurdistan Workers' Party.
The accession protocols for new NATO members must be ratified by all 30 of the organization's member states. Only Turkey and Hungary have not yet ratified Sweden and Finland's accession to the alliance.
