Experience has taught me that MS Excel is the go-to option for many businesses in regard to data management, organization, presentation, and financial tracking. It's fully equipped with the tool-set to get the job done if designed and managed correctly. The spreadsheets/tools I create in excel will be visually appealing, efficient, simplified for the end user, and secure to ensure long-term use. I've trained over the years to prioritize the user-experience and therefore make tools in Excel that others can enjoy using without need of significant training. This isn't to say these tools are not advanced, complex, and capable of solving more difficult scenarios, but a tool is only worth having if it can be used by employees with a basic level of experience in Excel.
