After taking early retirement as reporter/editor for a major metropolitan newspaper, I have continued to use my word skills to tutor community college students in writing and grammar and to edit books. I have experience as a working journalist including reporting, editing, and designing pages. I edit all types of books and manuscripts, including textbooks and fiction, and work with both experienced and inexperienced authors to make their writing sing. I often use a free computer program that allows me to attach to author's computer so that together we can go over the work. This saves time and injects a more personal approach to helping authors improve their work.
