I am a native English speaker with an Honours B.A. in Humanities and TESL, TEFL, and TESOL teaching certifications from the University of Toronto. The programs I enrolled in for my Humanities degree were a major in Classical Civilization, and a specialist in English, both of which required extensive research and a high level of writing. During my time at university, I became very comfortable with various systems of citation (particularly MLA and Chicago-style), and gained experience proofreading and editing my own work as well as the work of my peers. I then became a certified teacher of English as a second language, and have worked as such for the past six years. Not only did the certification courses demand a precise knowledge of English grammar, vocabulary, and natural phrasing, but I have since had the chance to help hundreds of people from around the world with their English writing. Through proofreading, editing, and coaching, I have assisted many different people with a wide variety of projects, including university essays, poetry translations, advertisement billboards, speeches, and PowerPoint presentations to name a few. Since my work experience includes nearly four years of teaching online, I am very comfortable with working remotely and handling tasks through the internet. As I am currently looking for more autonomy in my work schedule, and hoping to expand my work experience in a new direction, I am very keen to take on any projects that may be deemed compatible with my abilities.
