Twenty years ago, I graduated with a Bachelor’s in Fine Art, with a concentration in Print Making; but I also gained digital design experience during my years while attending university. This start of a design career piqued because the design group wanted a digital illustrator. I moved to New York City with the green attitude that I could easily be an illustrator, and did I learn the hardships. Fortunately my design experience allowed my opportunities to work in the then emerging internet industry. Within this time working with several internet entrepreneurs where many became respected industrial experts within their concentration, I learned several disciplines of design and human interaction with computers. We delved deep in the technology but also learned the responsibilities of development and publication. Essentially, that was the start of internet heuristics and we were there. Years of design, animation, illustration, and eventually art directing and tutoring younger designers, I had the opportunities to explore and develop many boundary pushing I have worked with business owners and project managers to understand their goals; photographers while creating visual assets; retouchers that finesse that capture; copywriters to inspire and poetically illustrate the message; programmers to develop a design and optimize an user experience; and executives for the overall brand management. There are moments when I interact and develop with teams extending the brand beyond the digitally interactive environment. Each of these developments require clear communication, exact deadlines, and creative thinking that constantly strive to elevate any direction of brand communication within the company as well as without.
