After completion of my M.A. in Dutch Linguistics and Journalism, I started working as a freelance copywriter and translator, mostly translating from English to Dutch. I have worked as a translator/editor for various translation agencies, universities, and (popular) scientific magazines. Due to my background in Psychobiology (a study that encompasses topics on pharmacology, social sciences, biology and the medical field), I have specialized myself as a (bio)medical translator. My background knowledge allows me to deliver medical translations with the correct use of terminology and without the common linguistic pitfalls that are so easily made by someone who is not familiar with medical sciences. My experience in journalism adds to my creative versatility. Not only am I an excellent translator, I also keep an eye on the readability of a text and the right tone of voice. As an editor, my primary task is rewriting scientific articles into B1 level texts that attract a wider audience.
