I'm a professional, published writer with a Master of Fine Arts degree in creative nonfiction and also work as a professional editor. I worked for two years as the nonfiction editor of a literary journal and now edit articles and book-length manuscripts for publication. As a teacher of advanced English, my technical knowledge of grammar is rock-solid and precise. I know the difference between a coordinate and cumulative adjective, and between a restrictive and nonrestrictive clause. I also know when to use a verb complement instead of an adverb. If you don't know what I'm talking about, don't feel bad [not badly] about it. That's my job! In addition to my MFA I have an MA in history and a BA in English and am proficient with scholarly language and conventions, including MLA and Chicago styles. As a writer, my work is topical and research-based but intended for a lay audience. As such, I am skilled at taking dry technical or academic content and turning it into entertaining and informative material that is accessible, entertaining, and easy to read.
