I have tutored a chemistry class to a student. The class I invented was a Chemistry lab that was fun, safe but grounded in a Chemistry lesson each meeting. For example, I modeled the course around the idea of a lesson, safety, chemicals, and a written lab book where the student recorded notes in the lab book just as a Chemist would keep notes, observations, and conclusions in a noted book to capture his research, ideas, notes, and conclusions for future experiments or research if questions arise during the lab. My student was always eager because I sent his Mother the list of chemicals and necessary chemistry lab equipment needed to present the lab experiment. Like a chemistry grocery list. She loved my safety and care with her son. He was always eager to learn disciplined chemistry with cool experiments. I emphasis at his age was SAFETY first and fun. He was very young but very curious. And I wanted to feed the his curious mind with SAFETY first. The student had fun and his Mother knew I was protecting her son like he was mine with SAFETY.
