Where the summit is the beginning…….. I started my journey as a writer in August 2011, when I was approached by a friend to help to write an essay for her daughter doing MBA course. Studying in a University in UK, her daughter had failed her first attempt and could not afford to do so in the second. I was not sure, I could do it. With a degree in Zoology Hons., MA in Psychology and Advanced Systems Management in Computers with Gold Medals from NIIT, I had the qualifications but lacked the techniques. Nearly 20 years of marriage and upbringing three kids, I had not been in touch. I was not much aware of current trends in writing. In a way, I belonged to old school of writing at that time. But, I saw it as an opportunity. With my daughter in hostel for MBBS, and son planning to join DTU after 12th, I had only the younger one to look after. I borrowed my daughter’s laptop and began to help my friend’s daughter. Within three weeks, the essay was through and I had found a new way to channelize my energies and look within. When you fall to rise …. Since then, I have done several assignments, coming from friends. I met several people on the way, old journalists, writers who guided me, mentored me and taught me techniques. I learnt several things by falling and getting up, clients feedbacks and since then, every assignment has been a new challenge and new chapter of learning. You love them all but few are special….. With such a large portfolio of the past 8 years, having worked for Organic Harvest, Bajaj Fans, Amfah Infrastructures, Garnet Plywood, Aquionics, Modabooks, Maxfort Schools, DPS RK Puram and many advertisements, my favorites have been: ACL swimming pool equipment This was an assignment I did just before Diwali. There were only 2 days to go before Diwali and I had to deliver. Working long hours, I completed this assignment in time with the help of my team, but till today, it is one of the best. And where ever we have shared this file, mostly we receive work on the basis of this. Khadi Organique One of the cutest assignment, I had to write product descriptions of nearly 200 products. When I wrote the first sample, the client feedback was, it is cliché. He wanted something interesting, readable, something that would hook the reader. I was challenged. There was a word limit. I chalked out 4-5 sentences of hypnotic language, creating an aura around the product. The client loved it. Rest was easy. It was a huge project, so I led the team, strategizing, planning the output. Using the same pattern, we weaved magical tale of 200 products. And the best part was yet to come. The client wanted me to write the distributors page. I called my mentor. What should I write in there? I was told, make Khadi look like a family inviting members. I wrote accordingly. A few days later, the client called. He had received call from Hyderabad and had tied up with a new distributor who told him, he was simply intrigued by what was written on the distributor page. Th
