Fathi Bashagha: Libya is able to compens

$25/hr Starting at $25

British newspapers are reporting on an offer from Libya to help make up for the shortfall in Russian oil supplies, as well as fears of global starvation due to the war in Ukraine.

We start with the Telegraph newspaper, which spoke to Fathi Bashagha, who was chosen by the parliament in Tobruk to take over as prime minister in Libya, as part of a report by its correspondent Daniel Kaburu.

Bashagha told the newspaper that Libya could help make up for the shortfall in Russian oil supplies if the West helped it recover from years of war.

Al-Tagraraf recalled that last March, the Libyan parliament, meeting in Tobruk, announced Bashagha, 59, as prime minister. This came after the government of Abdel Hamid al-Dabaiba failed to organize elections, as promised last December. Dabaiba, 63, has so far refused to step down. The report noted that "Libyan oil production has recovered from the collapse caused by the revolution against Muammar Gaddafi in 2011 and the subsequent civil war, but it is still well below its pre-war peak."
