Amanda Hanna earned her Bachelor's Degree in English, with a concentration in Creative Writing, from DePaul University in June 2014. She will pursue her MA in Writing and Publishing, from DePaul, beginning in the fall of 2015. She was recently awarded a Graduate Assistantship which covers 100% of tuition in exchange for tutoring in the DePaul Writing Center and editorial work on the creative nonfiction journal, Slag Glass City. So far, some of her favorite literary themes have been childhood/adolescence, city-life/urban environments, walking, and gentrification. She has incorporated these themes into various poems, essays, and short stories in both academia and personal creative endeavors. Amanda also enjoys editing and proofreading in an array of fields and is extremely detail-oriented when it comes to presentation and production. Lastly, she is interested in expressing herself through blog-oriented and/or journalistic/op-ed writing, as she recognizes the value in addressing relevant cultural and societal news that influence daily life.
