The International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA) has opened an investigation into the incident of the famous Turkish chef Nusret Gökçe, nicknamed "Salt Chef" and others "without permission" entering the stadium after the World Cup final match in Qatar.
The famous Turkish chef was photographed holding and kissing the World Cup while celebrating with the Argentine players after their victory over France.
FIFA rules say the trophy can only be held by a "highly selected" group of people, including tournament winners, FIFA officials and heads of state.
A FIFA spokesperson said in a statement to BBC Sport: "After conducting a review, FIFA is working to determine how unauthorized individuals entered the pitch after the Closing Ceremony at Lusail Stadium on 18 December.
He added, "An appropriate internal action will be taken."
