I grew up in the Philippines, with both Filipino and English as primary language. While the two are my most fluent languages, I also have a very basic understanding of Mandarin. A strong medical background also gives me an extra edge in medical or scientific translation. I've also read a fair amount and care greatly about the tone of any piece and do my best that small cultural nuances in translation are not missed. Expect good attention to detail and tailoring to target audience - a more formal piece, for example, may be translated and rephrased iinto a more 'children-friendly' form.
