I have been in the Finance and General Management role for more than 14 years over multiple industries, mostly FMCG and hospitality.
My experience did not only include accounting, but also management of operations, standard operating procedures, HR, stock control, team leader, new system implementation, training and a lot of reporting.
Preparing management accounts, and analysing the trends, sales, expenditure versus revenue and cost of sales for profit margins, was part of my day to day.
Because I was so involved in every aspect/department of the company as a whole, I have a very diverse experience skill set. I truly believe you cannot run/be part of an accounts team, if you don't understand how the business run from beginning to end.
And a business can't operate to its full efficiency, without having your procedures and critical control points in check.
