The Debt Arrangement Scheme (DAS) is a Scottish Government-run debt management mechanism which allows debtors to repay their multiple debts through a Debt Payment Program (DPP). Under DPP the debtors’ payment is based on their disposable income and for an extended period of time. The DPP also provides debtors’ protection from their creditors that they cannot do due diligence to enforce payment of the debts paid via this program. Furthermore once DPP is approved, it will freeze all interest, fees and charges, resulting in the easy full payment of the debts.
