I have a strong expertise in the design of complex structural assemblies for aerospace, automotive and marine applications using Finite Element Analysis (FEA). I am fluent in several commercial FEA packages (MSC Patran/Nastran, FEMAP, Abaqus) and I can proficiently simulate the effect static and dynamic load cases, using both implicit and explicit analysis. I have a strong track record in the analysis of progressive damage in metals and composites (plasticity, fracture and fatigue), using approaches such as VCCT and cohesive zone modelling to predict "in service" structural integrity. I have developed several user-material and user-element subroutines to enhance the baseline modelling capability of commercial FEA (Abaqus).
